Dr Ali is an ophthalmologist who specialises in glaucoma and cataract surgery, in addition to medical retinal and uveitis. She completed her Ophthalmology training at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand, and subsequently undertook advanced fellowships at Sydney Eye Hospital, Westmead Hospital in Sydney, followed by Oxford Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom. Dr Ali is highly proficient and precise in cataract surgery, glaucoma management and all forms of glaucoma surgery including minimally invasive and traditional procedures.

Research and Teaching

Dr Noor Ali is extensively involved in teaching medical students and optometry students through the Australian National University and the University of Canberra respectively. Clinically, she teaches ophthalmology trainees at the public hospital and optometrists in the community.  Dr Ali regularly gives presentations at state, national and international scientific meetings. She has published a number of scientific papers and won research prizes. She is a contributor to the Australian Fight Glaucoma Blindness Registry.

Special Interest

After hours, Dr Ali enjoys spending time with her husband, trail running and playing racquet sports including Tennis, Padel and more recently Pickleball. She is an avid enthusiast of Asian Fusion cuisine. Dr Ali is also actively engaged in advocacy both with Glaucoma Australia- a charitable organisation for glaucoma patients, and the Parliamentary Friends of Eye Health. She feels this work is important and impactful on a larger scope in our community.
