Dr Linda Zheng is a laser refractive eye surgeon and ophthalmic surgeon who treats both adult and paediatric ophthalmology patients, and aims to provide lifelong care for her patients. She attained her 6 year medical and surgical degree at the University of New South Wales with Honours, and completed a further Masters of Medicine at the University of Sydney. Following her general medical and surgical training years at Concord Hospital, she completed 7 years of Ophthalmic Surgical specialty training across numerous hospitals in NSW where she had a focus on Multifocal Cataract and Keyhole Strabismus Surgery. Subsequently she completed further subspecialty training in both Ophthalmic Paediatric Surgery and Laser Refractive Eye Surgery. The later was performed in Shanghai at the Fudan University Eye Hospital, the quaternary referral Laser Refractive Eye Surgery Centre for all of China, performing over 1 million cases per year. By nature of having the highest rate of myopia and presbyopia in the world they have developed the latest laser technologies, and laser surgical techniques, and Dr Zheng has brought these learnings home to her patients in Sydney. Dr Zheng is fluent in Mandarin and basic Cantonese.

Research and Teaching

Dr Zheng is currently appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Sydney Eye Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick and has private consultation rooms across Sydney. Dr Zheng is actively involved in research and clinical trials so she can deliver the most modern treatments for her patients, has published numerous papers in peer reviewed journals, and is involved in teaching and training the next generation of Ophthalmologists. Dr Zheng is in the process of establishing a laser refractive training course in Shanghai to allow future ophthalmologists the ability to train in refractive laser.
